What are the SAT courses?
SAT is an exam hosted by the College Board. Its scores are an important reference for high school students around the world to apply for admission to American universities and scholarships. It and ACT (American College Test) are both called the American college entrance examination, but not all universities require this exam. Some top universities do not require it in terms of admission requirements. Students can use other scores instead. When applying for a university, you need to carefully check the admission requirements of the school. After the 2016 reform, the new SAT has a total score of 1600 points, divided into three parts: reading, grammar and mathematics, and writing is changed to an optional test. ETS is responsible for its question setting and marking. However, they are only one of the reference materials for admission to students, and they do not play a completely decisive factor. The score is valid for 2 years.
Subject English
The grammar and reading sections are combined and set in an adaptive manner, that is, the difficulty of the later questions is determined by the answers to the previous questions. The English section has cancelled the long article test of the previous paper-based test and replaced it with short articles. The ratio of grammar and reading questions in each test is 6:4, and the grammar section is no longer scored separately after the computer-based test.
math
The SAT computer-based math interface has lower reading requirements. Unlike the paper-based test, the SAT computer-based test allows the use of a calculator at any time to assist in answering questions. At the same time, the average time for each question will increase. After the reform, CB hopes that the math test will be able to more purely test students' mathematical reasoning and logic abilities.
Essay
The new SAT Essay scoring rules divide the scores into three dimensions: Reading, Analysis and Writing. Test takers are required to make a well-structured and detailed analysis of the designated article. An article with a score of 4 has almost no language errors, an article with a score of 3 has no major language errors, and an article with a score of 2 has many language errors.
Score calculation
CALCULATE
The full score is 1600, of which the full score for reading and grammar is 400 points each, the full score for mathematics is 800 points, and the writing score is calculated separately, with a score of 2-8 points
The SAT exam has the ability to score single items, which are divided into 7 categories. There are 3 categories in the mathematics section. There are 4 categories in reading and grammar. The lower limit of each category is 1 point and the upper limit is 15 points. They are divided into Heart of Algebra; Problem Solving and Data Analysis, mathematical reasoning and application, data analysis and processing; Passport to Advanced Math: Expression of ldeas, expression of views and concepts; Standard English Conventions, standard language habits; Words in Context, words in the text; Command of Evidence, grasp of evidence. There are also Cross-Test Scores, which are used to test the ability to analyze historical, social and scientific topics, which are reflected in the three parts of Reading, Writing and Math. The upper limit of each topic is 40 points and the lower limit is 10 points.
The new SAT exam reform has cancelled the rule of deducting points for wrong questions. You only need to count the correct questions, look up the table and do simple calculations to know the approximate score. The math score can be directly converted into the score by the number of correct questions according to the official chart. The scores of reading and grammar need to look up the scores corresponding to the number of correct questions in the two parts respectively, and add the two scores and multiply them by 10 to get the scores of Reading and Writing.
