Admission requirements for overseas undergraduate studies
Admission requirements for US colleges
GPA:Most universities require 3.0 or above, high-quality colleges are mostly above 3.5, and top universities often require 3.8 or even higher.
TOEFL:Most schools require scores above 80, mid-level schools are more competitive with scores of 90-100, the top 30 universities require scores of 105+, and some top Ivy League schools even expect scores of 110+. Some schools accept IELTS as an alternative, and the requirement is generally 6.5-7.5.
SAT:The top 30 universities usually require 1450+, and the top Ivy League schools are mostly in the 1500-1560 range. Different subjects have specific score expectations, such as 750+ for math. Some schools have a test-optional policy, and students can evaluate whether to submit.
ACT:The top 30 universities generally require 32+, and the top universities are mostly 34-35 points. The performance of the scientific reasoning section is also concerned, and excellent students are mostly 30+ in this section. Similar to the SAT, some schools allow students to choose whether to submit it.
Admission requirements for English courses
Academic achievements:Partially accept Chinese college entrance examination scores
A-Level: Top universities require AAA – AAA*, general universities require ABB – AAB.
IB: 40 – 45 points for top schools, 36 – 38 points for better schools.
AP: Comprehensive assessment, AP score of 4-5 and high school GPA of 3.5 or above is recommended.
Language scores:
IELTS: Generally 6.0 – 6.5 points, 7.0 – 7.5 points for some majors in top universities (such as G5).
TOEFL: 80 – 90 for most schools, 90 – 110 for quality universities. Some courses may be exempted if the students have good scores.
Canadian undergraduate admission requirements
Educational Background:Complete high school education and obtain a diploma. Students in their second or third year of high school have the opportunity to apply for dual admission to university preparatory courses + university or language + university; freshmen and sophomores can consider applying for transfer credits.
Academic achievements:
A-Level: at least 3 subjects, BBB – AAB and above for better schools, AAA may be required for top popular majors.
IB: Total score 28 – 30 points or above, around 34 – 38 points for a very competitive situation.
AP: 3 – 5 AP subjects with scores of 4 – 5, combined with comprehensive evaluation of high school grades.
Language scores:
IELTS: Most students should have an overall score of 6.0 – 6.5, with no less than 6.0 for each item. Some top majors should have a score of 7.0, with no less than 6.5 for each item.
TOEFL: Total score 80-100, with writing score of 20-22. TOEFL iBT Home Edition is partially accepted.
Others: such as Duolingo, around 110-120 points.
